PDF / Web Accessibility

Role Summary

The ADA Accessibility Specialist will be the end-to-end owner of accessibility delivery for US

government and enterprise clients. This includes auditing, testing, remediation, document/PDF

accessibility, and compliance reporting. The Specialist will work across design, development, and QA

teams to ensure websites, mobile apps, and digital documents meet ADA, WCAG, and Section 508

compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess: Conduct automated & manual audits for websites, portals, LMS, documents (Word,

PowerPoint, PDFs), and multimedia content

• Test: Perform real-user accessibility testing with screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver,

TalkBack), keyboard-only navigation, and mobile responsiveness

• Remediate: Provide clear, prioritized fixes and hands-on remediation support for PDFs & Office

documents (tagging, structure, alt text, headings, forms, reading order), Videos & multimedia

(captioning, transcripts, audio descriptions), Third-party platforms & LMS content

• Guide developers on accessible coding practices (ARIA, semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

• Prepare VPATs/ACRs and client-facing accessibility conformance documentation

• Advise clients on ADA, Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2, and emerging US/state accessibility laws

• Support quarterly monitoring & ongoing compliance programs

Required Skills & Tools

• Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA Title II/III, Section 504/508

• Hands-on with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, Axe, WAVE, SiteImprove, Adobe Acrobat Pro

• Proficiency in HTML5, ARIA, CSS3, JavaScript (React/Angular a plus)

• Strong documentation/reporting skills (audit findings, VPAT/ACR)

• Experience supporting federal, state, or higher education contracts preferred

• DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester

• IAAP CPACC (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies)
