We are seeking a detail-oriented PCB Design Engineer to join our hardware development team. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of printed circuit board development—from understanding custom customer requirements and schematic capture to complex multi-layer layout and manufacturing support. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in high-speed design with the soft skills needed to bridge the gap between abstract requirements and physical hardware. Key Responsibilities: Requirement Analysis: Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and mechanical engineers to define and document custom PCB requirements and specifications. Schematic Design & Library Management: Create accurate schematic diagrams and maintain component libraries, including footprints and symbols. PCB Layout & Optimization: Design high-density, multi-layer board layouts for high-speed digital, analog, and power electronics, ensuring optimal component placement and signal routing. Design for Excellence (DFX): Implement DFM (Manufacturability), DFA (Assembly), and DFT (Testing) principles to ensure reliable and cost-effective production. Technical Analysis: Perform signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) simulations, thermal analysis, and EMI/EMC compliance checks. Manufacturing Support: Generate fabrication packages (Gerber, BOM, assembly drawings) and interface with vendors for prototyping and volume production. Testing & Debugging: Support board bring-up, troubleshooting, and debugging of prototype assemblies. Required Skills & Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering or any other graduation. EDA Tool Proficiency: Expertise in professional PCB design software such as Altium Designer (highly preferred), Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, or Mentor Graphics. Advanced Design Techniques: Experience with high-speed serial interfaces, impedance control, length matching, and rigid-flex designs. Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards like IPC (IPC-2221/2222) and MIL-STD for design and fabrication. Communication: Strong ability to translate non-technical client needs into technical design constraints.
