Job Summary

Layam Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process for our organization at our Adyar location. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with statutory requirements, and provide support for payroll-related queries.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and administer end-to-end payroll process for all employees on a monthly basis.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with statutory regulations (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, Gratuity, etc.).- Maintain payroll information by designing systems; directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data.- Prepare and submit all statutory returns and filings (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, etc.) as per schedule.- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.- Manage employee queries related to salaries, deductions, and payslips.- Coordinate with HR and Finance to ensure correct employee data and resolve discrepancies.- Prepare payroll reports and analysis for management as required.- Ensure confidentiality of payroll data and maintain proper payroll records.- Stay updated on latest payroll rules, tax laws, and statutory compliance requirements.- Support audits and resolve payroll discrepancies.- Manage payroll software and suggest process improvements for efficient payroll operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in payroll management, preferably in a mid to large-scale organization.- Strong knowledge of Indian payroll statutory compliances (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, Gratuity, Bonus, etc.).- Hands-on experience with payroll software (SAP, Tally, GreytHR, etc.) and MS Excel.- Excellent attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills.- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.- Good communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
