Job Description

The Payroll and Treasury Accountant is responsible for processing salary payments to the clients andtheir employees. Their responsibilities include calculating salaries, calculating overtime earnings, andupdating employee hiring or termination information on the payroll system, and preparing internal andexternal tax reports. They may also conduct self-internal audits. To ensure success as a payrollaccountant, you should demonstrate knowledge of applicable tax laws and ideally have experience in asimilar role. A first-class Payroll and Treasury Accountant will be detail-oriented and someone who canaccurately and timely process salaries.Your deep and strong knowledge of payroll legislation and processes is essential. The system used is onlya tool, but it does not replace the knowledge the individual has; with that said, we use various systems toprocess payroll and other services for our clients.

Responsibilities And Duties

 Correspond with the clients using provided company communication channels as necessary toreceive information, authorization, investigations, adjustments, and inquires or confirmation toprocess payroll. Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely andaccurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, andother deductions. Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, andchanges to pay rates. Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. Complete client requests for additional system configuration based on the client’s needs andrequirements. Review, analyze, and verify payroll reports and documents. Respond to external agencies including any government or regulatory authority in conjunctionwith the in-country providers Prepare pay statements, invoices, and direct deposit register, and validate reports Distribute pay stubs electronically to clients or clients’ employeesDocument: Job DescriptionJob ID: JDTPA001Revision Date: May 22, 2024Location: Guelph Help customers remain payroll compliant and provide applicable payroll compliance information.When applicable direct customers to the appropriate government resources. Assist the accounting team with customer reconciliations. Support the treasury team with accounting processes/tasks. Coordinate set-up, ongoing issues, and support in implementation of new clients, including bankchanges, method of payment changes, contact changes, correct registrations, and remittanceschedules. Assist in the preparation and regular maintenance of client statements of account. Updates client receivables and remittance reporting to reflect the current outstanding inflow andoutflow of cash currently in the organization. Prepare and transmit customer information updates and releases. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors. Stay current with Payroll, compensation, and time off regulations / law changes. Follow the company’s information security and privacy policies and procedures in all aspects ofwork as part of the company’s compliance to ISMS and PIMS.

 Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet required. Knowledge of CRM andsophisticated payroll systems an asset Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills Meticulous attention to detail Able to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy Strong team player, capable of performing in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Successful candidates will be required to undergo a criminal record checkEducation & Experience Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting Completion of CPP (Certified Payroll Professional), or working towards completion is anasset Excellent knowledge and understanding of Accounting and Payroll concepts, calculations,and regulations 3 years’ experience in a payroll processing function preferred Experience with Year End PreparationSkills: communication,compliance,confidentiality,crm,payroll processing,problem-solving,payroll compliance,attention to detail,tax laws,accounting systems,accounting,analytical skills,microsoft office,payroll
