Role Overview

We are looking for a

Payroll Specialist

with an

HR background

to manage payroll processing, compliance, and employee compensation. The ideal candidate should have

2-3 years of experience

in payroll management, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of HR policies and labor laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately process end-to-end payroll for all employees, ensuring timely salary disbursement and statutory compliance.
  • Calculate salaries, overtime, incentives, bonuses, reimbursements, deductions (PF, PT, ESI, gratuity), and manage final settlements.
  • Maintain updated employee records, attendance, leave balances, and benefits data in HR systems and payroll software.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements including TDS, PF, ESI, PT, LWF, and submit timely statutory returns.
  • Act as the first point of contact for payroll-related queries, addressing discrepancies while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams for accurate payroll processing, reporting, bank disbursement, and audits.
  • Prepare and maintain payroll reports, salary registers, variance analysis, and support internal and external audits.
  • Monitor changes in labor laws, and tax regulations, and suggest improvements to payroll systems and processes.

Key Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of hands-on payroll experience with a solid HR operations background.
  • Proficient in payroll software (GreytHR, Keka, Zoho, SAP) and advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing, tax deductions, statutory compliance, and labor regulations.
  • Analytical with excellent problem-solving skills to handle discrepancies and resolve payroll issues promptly.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in managing sensitive employee and financial data.
  • Capable of handling confidential information with utmost professionalism and integrity.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to liaise with employees, HR, Finance, and external auditors.
  • Adaptable to changes in tax laws, compliance requirements, and payroll systems with a continuous learning mindset.
