Job Description – Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) Position: Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) Department: IT Infrastructure / Database Administration Reporting To: IT Manager / Database Lead Job Purpose:We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in RAC installation, upgrades, Data Guard, GoldenGate, SQL tuning, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing mission-critical Oracle databases, ensuring availability, performance, and reliability. Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle RAC environments to ensure high availability and scalability. Implement and maintain Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery and business continuity. Deploy and manage Oracle GoldenGate for real-time replication and data synchronization. Perform SQL query tuning and resolve database performance bottlenecks. Conduct database performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization. Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery solutions. Apply patches, perform version upgrades, and implement security measures. Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolution. Collaborate with application developers and infrastructure teams to support database needs. Document processes, changes, and operational guidelines. Requirements: Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC installation, configuration, and upgrades. In-depth knowledge of Oracle Data Guard setup and maintenance. Experience with Oracle GoldenGate replication tools. Strong expertise in SQL tuning and performance troubleshooting. Deep understanding of database internals, indexes, partitions, and query optimization. Familiar with Linux/Unix operating systems and scripting for automation. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA with relevant hands-on experience. Oracle certifications (OCA/OCP/OCM) are highly desirable. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to work independently and under pressure. Preferred: Experience with cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud (OCI), AWS, or Azure. Knowledge of automation tools and DevOps practices related to database management.
