PFA the JD for Oracle DBA:

Responsibilities: • New Installation, Provisioning, Database config parameter updates / adjustments, decommissioning of database • Manage and maintain Oracle databases to ensure high availability and performance. • Monitor, support and troubleshoot Oracle Data Guard for high availability and disaster recovery. • Support and participate in Plan, test, execute the patching, upgrades, and migrations of Oracle databases. • Implement proactive health checks and capacity planning. • Handling alerts reported via monitoring, space utilization, tablespace mgmt. • Monitor database performance and capacity, and perform tuning as necessary. • Coordinate with L3 team during patching, upgrades, DR drills, and RCA investigations. • Support the implementation of IT security standards and policies. • Collaborate with other DBA i.e. PostgreSQL DBA to support database requirements and projects. • Create and maintain documentation and operational procedures. • Manage and perform backup and restore operations using Commvault systems. • Assist L3 and Team for database-related issues during IT crisis calls. • Handle database related issues escalated from L1 or from business team. • Support necessary log collection and detailed investigations for root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or high-impact problems. • User and Access management for Oracle databases • DB Export, Import, Refresh activities • Participate in audit activities and documentation updates • Database changes implementation in line with ITIL or organizational change processes. • Participate in shift-based monitoring (if applicable) or on-call rotation support. Knowledge of added advantage: Database vulnerability scans, report review, and mitigation planning. Other database technologies like PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server Strong knowledge of ITSM Tools (Servicenow, HP Service centerl), ticket workflows and ITSM best practices. Skillsets & Experience: • At least 5-7 years of experience as an Oracle DBA. • Strong knowledge of Oracle Data Guard and Oracle Enterprise Edition. • Experience with patching, upgrades, and migrations. • Strong skills in monitoring and performance tuning. • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to work under pressure. • Very good communication skills and team spirit. • Independent and self-organized working style. • Expertise in working with Linux operating systems. • Expertise in working with Oracle SQL Developer & Quest Toad. • Experience in implementing IT security standards. • Experience with Commvault Backup & Restore systems
