Role Overview

Parsel is looking for a highly organized and proactive

Operations and Dispatch Specialist

to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing shipping operations, from securing carrier quotes to providing real-time dispatch support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, excels at coordination, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Request, compare, and manage shipping quotes to secure cost-effective and reliable carrier options.
  • Schedule and reschedule pick-up services with carriers to meet client timelines.
  • Provide real-time dispatch assistance, ensuring smooth communication between carriers, clients, and internal teams.
  • Create and maintain a process-driven, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving and operations
  • Demonstrate agile thinking and the ability to quickly adapt to changing situations, tools, or priorities
  • Coordinate with carriers on shipment status, updates, and any changes to schedules.
  • Audit shipping invoices and perform basic reconciliations to ensure billing accuracy.
  • Track and document shipping activities to maintain operational visibility.
  • Identify and resolve shipping-related issues quickly and effectively.
  • Support continuous process improvements within shipping and dispatch functions.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or transportation coordination.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with carriers and clients.
  • Familiarity with invoice auditing and basic reconciliation processes.
  • Proficiency in using spreadsheets (Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel) for tracking and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Flexibility to align with US West Coast business hours.
