NPI Engineer

• An NPI (New Product Introduction) engineer oversees the transition of a new product from the design phase to full-scale manufacturing, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Their responsibilities include developing manufacturing processes, creating project timelines, collaborating with cross-functional teams (like R&D, manufacturing, and quality), and troubleshooting any issues that arise. This role involves project management, problem-solving, and ensuring products meet design and performance standards before launch. Key responsibilities
• Project management: Lead NPI projects from concept to launch, including creating project plans, timelines, and managing resources.
• Process development: Design, develop, and document manufacturing and assembly processes, including creating work instructions and test plans.
• Design and DFM: Work with design teams to evaluate products for manufacturability, testability, and cost (Design for Manufacturability).
• Cross-functional collaboration: Serve as a liaison between different departments such as R&D, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving: Identify and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Quality and compliance: Ensure processes meet quality standards and that products comply with relevant regulations and specifications.
• Documentation: Create and manage necessary documentation, including work instructions, failure analysis reports, and change orders.
• Required skills and qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field, such as mechanical or electrical.
• Experience in NPI, product development, or manufacturing.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in engineering software like CAD.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO9001) is often required.
