Job Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and technically skilled L1+ Firewall & Networking Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Good understanding of networking concepts and firewall technologies. As an L1+ resource, you will support and maintain network security infrastructures, assist in troubleshooting network issues, and provide proactive monitoring of security devices such as firewalls, routers, and switches.

# Key Responsibilities:

Firewall Management & Monitoring:

 - Assist in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of firewall devices (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortigate).

 - Monitor firewall logs and alerts, identifying and escalating issues.

 - Apply basic rule sets and policies based on network requirements and security best practices.

 - Assist with VPN setup and maintenance (site-to-site and client-to-site).

Network Support:

 - Provide basic support and troubleshooting for network issues, including routing, switching, and connectivity.

 - Assist in configuration and maintenance of networking hardware, such as routers, SDWAN, switches, and load balancers.

 - Perform basic network monitoring using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar.

 - Handle troubleshooting of network performance and connectivity issues, of MPLS, ILL, RF Links

Security Incident Response:

 - Monitor and respond to security alerts generated by firewalls, IDS/IPS, and other security devices.

 - Assist in incident management, ensuring timely resolution of network security issues.

 - Perform vulnerability assessments and provide reports for patching and remediation.

Documentation & Reporting:

 - Maintain up-to-date documentation on network security policies, procedures, and configurations.

 - Assist in generating network security reports and audit logs as required by compliance standards.

 - Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions for knowledge sharing.

 Collaboration & Escalation:

 - Collaborate with senior team members to address complex issues and provide insights on improving network security.

 - Escalate critical issues to senior network engineers or security experts as needed.

 - Work closely with other IT teams (e.g., Systems Admins, Security Analysts) to ensure seamless operations.

Education:

 - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).

 - Networking and security certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or similar (preferred).

Experience:

 - Minimum of 1-2/3 years of hands-on experience in network support, firewall administration, or network security.

 - Exposure to working with network monitoring and security tools.

Technical Skills:

 - Detail understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).

 - Familiarity with firewall technologies (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortigate, Check Point).

 - Experience with VPN technologies and configuration (e.g., SSL, IPSec).

 - Understanding of routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, VLANs).

 - Knowledge of network security concepts and practices (IDS/IPS/WAF, SIEM, etc.).

Soft Skills:

 - Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

 - Good communication skills (verbal and written).

 - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
