Role: Network Automation and SDN Engineer

CORE JD:

• Build the logic and configure CI/CD pipeline for SDN (CUMULUS Network) configuration changes.

• Work on network automation, providing innovative ideas to enhance the capability and efficiency of the network infrastructure.

• Configure and build new CI/CD pipelines, automate routine network tasks, and monitor the effectiveness and performance of automated workflows.

• Develop and maintain user-facing Dashboards for self-service operations, enabling users to create new VLANs, allocate IP Subnets, and configure endpoints.

• Work on configuration of VLAN/L3 Gateway and Interconnect on Cisco ACI fabric.

• Design and configure Enterprise LAN/WAN Networks, ensuring high performance and reliability.

• Execute the migration of existing Cisco ACI fabric to Cumulus Network SDN fabric.

• Design new network architectures based on business requirements, ensuring compliance with international standards and best practices.

• Design the overall Azure Network architecture, focusing on security, scalability, and cost-efficiency.

• Provide support for Silverpeak SD-WAN, Aruba NAC/Wireless Controller Network, and general SD-WAN environments.

• Analyze the current Azure network setup, identifying opportunities and implementing enhancements to optimize the cloud networking environment.

• Work on resolving complex issues related to Silverpeak and Aruba NAC/WLC products (L2/L3 troubleshooting).

• Support large-scale network migration projects, specifically transition to SD-WAN technologies.

• Actively work to close Audit and Risk items related to network security and compliance.

Skill Set

• Hands-on experience managing and automating large enterprise networks.

• Extensive hands-on experience with the following network platforms: Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Cisco routing and switching, Cisco ACI, Silverpeak SD-WAN, and Aruba NAC/Wireless.

• Excellent experience in Routing & Switching (R&S) protocols and deep expertise in Cisco ACI/SDN environments.

• Proven hands-on experience with network automation tools including Ansible, Python, Terraform, and Jenkins.

• Expertise in various Linux flavor(s), shell scripting, and CUMULUS Linux networking.

• Thorough knowledge and practical experience with advanced overlay technologies, specifically VXLAN and EVPN.

• Strong drive for continuous improvement, focused on building and optimizing Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for network configuration.

• Ability to read, understand, and map complex network topologies, efficiently identifying bottlenecks, choke points, and performance issues across L1 through L7 of the OSI model.

• Experience delivering technical projects within an Agile framework.

• Ability to operate and implement changes in a heavily regulated environment, with a strong understanding of tight change management practices.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Incidence Management and strong Root Cause Analysis (RCA) skills.

Education Qualification and Certifications

• Bachelors of Computer Science, Engineering, or Equivalent.

• Industry-standard network certifications (e.g., CCIE, CCNP, JNCIE, or equivalent automation/cloud certifications) are a plus.
