Required Skills -:

• Network Design & Implementation :-

  Develop and implement network architectures tailored to the organization's needs, including LAN, WAN, and wireless systems.

• Hardware and Software Configuration :-

  Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices to optimize performance.

• Network Monitoring :-

  Monitor network traffic, bandwidth, and performance to ensure consistent service delivery and minimal downtime.

• Security Management :-

  Implement and enforce network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and encryption methods, to safeguard sensitive data.

• Troubleshooting and Maintenance :-

  Resolve network issues through proactive troubleshooting and regular system updates, patches, and fixes.

Roles & Responsibilities of a Network Engineer

Core Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain

  routers, switches, and firewalls

  for secure and efficient network connectivity.
• Perform

  IP configuration, subnetting, and IP addressing

  for network devices and end systems.
• Implement and manage

  VLANs, LANs, and WANs

  to ensure proper segmentation and traffic management.
• Configure and troubleshoot

  VPNs

  (Site-to-Site / Remote Access) for secure remote connectivity.
• Work on

  BGP and other routing protocols

  to maintain stable and optimized routing across networks.
• Manage and maintain

  DNS configuration

  to ensure proper domain resolution.
• Monitor and optimize

  network performance

  to reduce downtime and latency.

Troubleshooting & Support

• Diagnose and resolve

  Layer 2 (Switching) and Layer 3 (Routing)

  issues.
• Provide

  L1/L2/L3 network support

  to resolve escalated incidents.
• Conduct

  root cause analysis

  for recurring network issues.
• Ensure network

  security, backup, and recovery procedures

  are in place.

Planning & Implementation

• Assist in

  network design and architecture planning

  based on business requirements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams during

  network upgrades and migrations

  .
• Implement

  network automation

  (if applicable) to reduce manual configuration tasks.
• Maintain

  network documentation

  (topologies, IP address management, configuration records).

Best Practices & Compliance

• Follow industry standards for

  OSI model layers

  during network design and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with

  security policies and firewall rules

• Conduct periodic

  network audits and vulnerability checks
