Network Admin L3 Job Description INTERNAL Job Summary: The Network L3 Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced network systems. This role requires a deep understanding of network architecture, protocols, security, and performance optimization to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of the company's network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: 1. Network Design and Implementation: oDesign, plan, and implement complex network solutions that meet business needs and requirements. oDevelop and maintain network diagrams and documentation. oEvaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve network performance and security. oConfiguration & testing of new network devices with help of OEM and Vendors 2. Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting: oMonitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues. oPerform advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution for network-related incidents. oCoordinate with other IT teams to resolve network-related issues and ensure minimal downtime. oResponsible entire network issues and scopes oAnalysis of logs and troubleshooting 3. Network Security: oImplement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. oConduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with security policies and standards. oRespond to and mitigate network security incidents. oImplement privilege rights based on user rights for controlled access. Customer’s concerned people in a prescribed format will authorize all requests for user creation, modification and deletion 4. Network Optimization: oAnalyze network traffic patterns and optimize network performance. oImplement quality of service (QoS) policies to prioritize critical network traffic. oWork with vendors and service providers to optimize network services and performance. oContinual Service Improvement Planning and executions o Performance tuning implementation suggested by OEM or product vendor 5. Documentation and Reporting: oMaintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures. oGenerate regular reports on network performance, security, and capacity. oPreparing, maintaining and updating of SOP and KB articles oPeriodic auditing if network devices oPreparing root cause analysis Network Admin L3 Job Description INTERNAL 6. Project Management: oLead and participate in network-related projects, ensuring timely and successful completion. oCoordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide regular project updates. 7. Mentoring and Support: oProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers (L1/L2). oAssist with training and knowledge sharing within the team. Qualifications: •Education: Bachelor's degree in Technology or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, etc.), these are optional. •Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on advanced network design, implementation, and troubleshooting. • Technical Skills: oProficiency with network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.). oExperience with network security technologies (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS). oKnowledge of network monitoring and management tools. oFamiliarity with cloud networking and virtualization technologies. oStrong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Ansible) are a plus. oKnowledge of Handing and closure of Critical P1 network incidents oExpertise Knowledge in network firewall and switches high availability oKnowledge Network Load balancing knowledge oExpertise Knowledge in Network devices firmware upgrades oExpertise Knowledge in Implementation of network devices security oKnowledge of Configuration-backup and management for networking devices oGood exposure in Co-ordination with OEM oExpertise in Network Infra capacity management • Soft Skills: oExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills. oStrong communication and interpersonal skills. oAbility to work independently and as part of a team. oDetail-oriented and organized.
