Job Description

Experience in database administration of one or more databases MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB. • Skilled in DB migration from On-Prem SQL Server to Azure IAAS, SQL Managed Instance. • Design and implement ASR/DR setup, Performance Tuning in SQL server, Encryption, Installation and Version upgrades of database. • Always On availability groups and in Azure Cloud, Azure storage accounts, NSG and Virtual networks. • Design and implement SQL database architectures. • Monitor and improve database performance and scalability. • Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance. • Perform regular database backups and recovery testing. • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly. • Collaborate with developers and analysts on data requirements. • Document database structures, processes, and best practices. • Implement data migration and integration solutions. • Built TSQL and PowerShell scripts to automate backup and restore. • Configure Database Monitoring tools like Datadog/Foglight/Newrelic/Xmatters for DB • Experienced in monitoring the health and performance of SQL servers and other home-grown applications using SQL server native tools. • Skilled in providing DB security Logins and permissions. • Migrated database from Oracle DB to SQL DB through SSMS tool. • Migrate Database from on-prem databases to Cloud databases. • Database Migration and Upgrade Support in as Part of BCP IT-DR Operations. • Design database documents (HLD, LLD, presentation doc and signoff from the customer). • Performed Switchover and Switchback tasks between Prod and Standby. • Design and implement SQL database architectures. • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures. Required Skills & Experience: • Proven work experience as an Database administrator on SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL. • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL • Strong understanding of database security and compliance standards. • Experience in deploying and maintaining high availability database systems • Experience with database design and normalization. • Familiarity with indexing, partitioning, and query optimization. • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. • Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) is a plus. • Ability to work with complex data models and object-relational database mapping Preferred Qualifications: • Certifications in Database Administration (e.g., DP-300 or similar), • Experience in migration of databases from OnPrem to cloud. • Exposure to database administration tools including configuration, monitoring, optimization, performance etc. • Understanding of complex database architectures.
