Role Overview:

Modern Workplace Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Microsoft 365 & Modern Workplace Administration:

- Administer Microsoft 365 tenant settings, policies, and licensing.

- Manage platform-level configurations for Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, and OneDrive.

- Perform mailbox migrations, Teams policy configurations, and SharePoint site management.

Endpoint Management & Security:

- Administer Microsoft Intune for device management (Windows, macOS, Mobile).

- Oversee device enrollment, compliance policies, and Autopilot provisioning.

- Support vulnerability management, OS patching, and endpoint compliance reporting.

Identity & Access Management (IAM):

- Manage Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access, MFA, and identity security features.

- Collaborate with security teams to implement Zero-Trust principles.

- Configure Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) and Identity Protection features.

Security & Compliance Operations:

- Administer Microsoft Security & Compliance Center configurations.

- Support eDiscovery, DLP, auditing, and compliance policy enforcement.

- Implement data protection and secure access best practices.

Service Operations & Process Adherence:

- Handle incidents, service requests, and changes using ITSM tools (ServiceNow, ManageEngine, etc.).

- Conduct proactive health checks and performance monitoring of Modern Workplace services.

- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in service reviews and audits.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in Modern Workplace engineering or administration.

- Strong expertise in:

- Microsoft 365 Administration (Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive)

- Microsoft Intune and Autopilot

- Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access, and Identity Security

- Windows 10/11 Enterprise configurations

- Security baselines and compliance policies in Microsoft 365

- PowerShell for platform automation

- Familiarity with:

- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (preferred)

- Microsoft Security & Compliance Center

- ITSM tools for incident and change management

- Zero Trust Security principles

Preferred Certifications (Good to Have):

- Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate

- Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate

- ITIL Foundation Certification

Soft Skills & Attributes:

- Strong documentation, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

- Understanding of security and compliance requirements in Modern Workplace environments.

- Ability to work independently on platform-level tasks.

- Team player with a proactive mindset.

- Willingness to work rotational shifts, including 24x7 coverage.
