About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Air Freight Operations Manager to lead and streamline our air freight operations across domestic and international routes. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in airline procurement, operational execution, and stakeholder management at major airports—particularly with hands-on experience in Delhi Airport operations. This role is critical in ensuring cost-effective, compliant, and efficient freight movements within a fast-growing logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee

  end-to-end air freight operations,

  including

  planning, execution, documentation, and coordination across key stakeholders.

• Manage

  spot airline procurement and negotiate with carriers

  to secure optimal rates and capacity based on shipment priorities.
• Maintain and

  expand a strong network of air freight forwarders, airlines

  , and ground handling agents to enhance service reliability and cost competitiveness.
• Collaborate with

  airline operations teams, customs officials, and ground handling teams for smooth cargo processing and timely deliveries.

• Ensure compliance with

  all aviation, customs, and IATA regulations, maintaining high safety and security standards.

• Monitor and

  improve

  operational

  efficiency, including

  turnaround

  times,

  cost management

  , and

  service

  performance

  metrics.
• Support the development and

  implementation of SOPs and digital workflows

  to enhance process transparency and scalability.
• Lead and mentor an operations team to

  foster accountability, efficiency, and customer-centricity.

• Coordinate closely with the sales and

  customer service teams to ensure seamless communication, accurate shipment tracking, and effective problem-solving.

• Manage vendor relationships to ensure consistent quality and adherence to service-level agreements.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience

  managing

  air freight operations

  with a reputed freight forwarding or logistics firm.
• Proven expertise in

  spot airline procurement, freight planning, and rate negotiation.

• Strong working relationships within the

  air freight community, including customs, carriers, and airport authorities.

• In-depth knowledge of

  customs clearance procedures, air freight documentation, and operational compliance.

• Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.

• High proficiency in digital tools and operational software for logistics tracking and reporting.
• A problem-solver with a proactive and process-driven approach to operations.

Preferred Background

• Experience working with leading logistics companies such as Jeena & Co., SA Consultants, Continental Carriers, or other top Indian air freight forwarders is strongly preferred.
• Exposure to new-age logistics startups or technology-driven environments will be considered a plus.
