Job Title: Microsoft Fabric Architect (Consulting Practice)

Role Overview

As a lead architect, you will guide clients through the discovery, design, and delivery of modern analytics platforms built on Microsoft Fabric and the broader Microsoft data stack. This is a hands-on, client-facing role that blends technical advisory with platform enablement to deliver secure, high-performance data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Roadmap: Lead discovery workshops to define data products, KPIs, and success metrics; develop reference architectures and "Now/Next/Later" roadmaps.
  • Architecture Design: Create secure, scalable environments utilizing Fabric domains, workspaces, and VNet connectivity.
  • Data Engineering: Design Lakehouse and Warehouse patterns (Bronze/Silver/Gold) using Delta/Parquet storage and orchestrate pipelines via Data Factory and Spark Notebooks.
  • Governance & Compliance: Implement tenant-level governance, RLS/OLS, and sensitivity labels while integrating with Microsoft Purview for data lineage.
  • DevOps & ALM: Establish Git integration, deployment pipelines, and automated validation for semantic models using tools like Tabular Editor and DAX Studio.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor capacity health, right-size workloads to meet SLAs, and optimize query performance.
  • Migration: Lead the transition from legacy BI and ETL tools (e.g., Synapse, on-prem) to the Fabric ecosystem with minimal disruption.

Required Qualifications

  • Professional Experience: 7–12+ years in data engineering and BI on Microsoft technologies, including recent hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Power BI Expertise: Advanced skills in semantic modeling, DAX, Power Query (M), and production-level deployment pipelines.
  • Fabric Components: Proven delivery experience with OneLake, Dataflows Gen2, Data Factory, and Spark.
  • Strategic Knowledge: Deep understanding of the trade-offs between Direct Lake, Import, and DirectQuery modes.
  • Consulting Soft Skills: Ability to frame complex technical problems and present architectural trade-offs to executive stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

  • Certifications: Microsoft certifications such as DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer), PL-300, or DP-203.
  • Technical Breadth: Familiarity with KQL for real-time analytics, Python/Scala for Spark, and Semantic Link (SemPy).
  • Advanced Tools: Experience with Microsoft Purview and the responsible use of Copilot within the Fabric environment.

Compensation & Culture

  • Salary Range: 20–35 LPA.
  • Core Values: The practice emphasizes a "white-glove" approach, prioritizing integrity, transparency, and data-driven decision-making to build lasting client trust.
