Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Merchandising Manager – Production to lead one of our production merchandising teams. This individual will oversee the complete order execution process from development through shipment, ensuring seamless buyer communication, on-time delivery, high quality, and cost-effectiveness. The Merchandising Manager will guide and mentor a team of merchants, build strong relationships with buyers and buying houses, and ensure flawless coordination with production, sourcing, quality, and logistics teams.

This is a critical leadership role requiring excellent product knowledge, strong attention to detail, superior time management, and proven people management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the merchandising team, ensuring effective delegation, guidance, and performance monitoring.
• Oversee the end-to-end order execution process, from product development through production to final shipment.
• Act as the key point of contact for buyers and buying houses, managing approvals, communication, and production updates.
• Prepare and monitor detailed T&A calendars, ensuring strict adherence to timelines.
• Handle costing, price negotiations, and margin achievement with buyers and vendors.
• Collaborate closely with production, sourcing, quality, and logistics teams to ensure smooth workflows and timely deliveries.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production or quality issues to prevent shipment delays.
• Analyze buyer requirements and market trends, providing strategic input for new product development.
• Ensure compliance with buyer requirements on social, technical, and quality standards.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with global buyers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Train, mentor, and develop junior and mid-level merchandisers to enhance efficiency and accountability.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong buyer handling and relationship management capabilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• In-depth product and process knowledge of garment manufacturing, fabrics, trims, and export documentation.
• Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple large-volume buyers and orders under pressure.
• Analytical mindset with sound decision-making ability.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Technology, Textile, Merchandising, or Business Management.
• 8–12 years of experience in garment merchandising, including at least 4–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Prior experience working with international buyers and buying houses is essential.
• Exposure to sustainable practices and compliance standards will be an added advantage.
