Job Description – Merchandiser (Gems & Jewellery Industry)

Job Title: Merchandiser
Department: Sales & Marketing / Production
Reporting To: Sales Manager / Production Head

Job Purpose:

To manage and coordinate all merchandising activities in the gems and jewellery business, ensuring products are planned, sourced, displayed, and sold effectively while maintaining quality, stock levels, and market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Planning & Sourcing
  • Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor products.
  • Plan jewellery designs, collections, and stock requirements in coordination with
  • Source raw materials and gemstones as per design and quality standards.
  • Inventory & Stock Management
  • Monitor inventory levels of finished jewellery and raw materials.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure timely availability of products.
  • Maintain records of stock movement, wastage, and production consumption.
  • Vendor & Supplier Coordination
  • Liaise with suppliers, gemstone vendors, and packaging vendors.
  • Ensure timely procurement, delivery, and quality compliance of materials.
  • Negotiate pricing, quality, and delivery schedules with vendors.
  • Sales & Display Support
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to plan product launches and collections.
  • Assist in visual merchandising, product display, and catalog preparation.
  • Track product performance and suggest improvements.
  • Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports on inventory, sales trends, and merchandising performance.
  • Analyze product-wise and collection-wise sales data for business decisions.
  • Suggest strategies to improve product availability, sales, and profitability.
  • Process Improvement
  • Support in improving merchandising processes and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality and operational standards.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Graduate in Commerce / Business / Fashion / Jewellery Design or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in merchandising in gems, jewellery, or luxury retail.
  • Strong knowledge of jewellery products, gemstones, and materials.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and inventory management systems.
  • Good communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of managing multiple tasks.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
