Role Overview:

The MEP Engineer will be responsible for the design review, installation oversight, operation, and maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems within RackBank’s data center facilities. This role ensures continuous uptime, efficiency, and safety of mission-critical infrastructure while supporting expansion and upgrade projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for data center infrastructure.
• Monitor and manage HVAC systems, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units to maintain ideal temperature and humidity.
• Ensure reliable operation of UPS, DG sets, transformers, and switchgear with proper redundancy (N+1/2N).
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance for all MEP systems.
• Maintain and test fire detection and suppression systems (FM200, NOVEC, sprinklers, hydrants).
• Review and validate MEP drawings, load calculations, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for system upgrades or repairs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• 0–2 years of experience (freshers with strong technical knowledge can apply).

Technical Skills

• Basic understanding of MEP systems in data centers or critical facilities.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems – chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, AHUs, ventilation systems.
• Familiarity with electrical systems including UPS, DG sets, transformers, LT/HT panels, switchgear, and power distribution.
• Basic knowledge of redundancy concepts such as N+1 and 2N.
• Understanding of fire detection and suppression systems (FM200, NOVEC, sprinklers, hydrants).
• Ability to read and understand MEP drawings, layouts, and load calculations.
• Basic awareness of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
• Understanding of safety standards, SOPs, and compliance requirements in critical infrastructure environments.

Good to Have:

• Internship or project exposure in data centers, industrial facilities, hospitals, or commercial buildings.
• Knowledge of BMS or DCIM tools.
• Exposure to vendor coordination or site supervision.
• Basic understanding of energy efficiency, PUE, and sustainability practices.
• Certifications related to HVAC, Electrical Systems, Fire Safety, or Data Center Operations.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drafting tools.
