Job Description

The MEP Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works at the construction site to ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, and timelines.

Key ResponsibilitiesSite Execution & Coordination

  • Supervise and monitor MEP works at site.
  • Coordinate with civil, architectural, and structural teams to resolve interface issues.
  • Ensure MEP installations align with approved shop drawings and method statements.

Design & Drawings

  • Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals.
  • Identify design discrepancies and raise RFIs when required.
  • Assist in preparing coordinated MEP drawings and as-built drawings.

Quality & Safety

  • Ensure all MEP works comply with project specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Conduct inspections and witness testing & commissioning activities.
  • Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with HSE requirements on site.

Planning & Progress

  • Monitor daily progress and report status to the Project Manager.
  • Coordinate installation schedules to meet project milestones.
  • Assist in planning manpower, materials, and equipment requirements.

Testing & Commissioning

  • Supervise testing, commissioning, and balancing of MEP systems.
  • Ensure systems are operational and ready for handover.
  • Support preparation of O&M manuals and handover documentation.

Documentation

  • Maintain daily site records, inspection reports, and checklists.
  • Assist in preparation of progress reports and snag lists.
  • Coordinate final inspections and authority approvals (if applicable).

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3–8 years of experience in MEP works for construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and firefighting systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in MS Office; AutoCAD knowledge preferred.
  • Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in high-rise, commercial, or industrial projects.
  • Knowledge of testing & commissioning procedures.
  • Familiarity with authority approvals and inspections.
  • Leadership skills to manage subcontractors and site teams.

Working Conditions

  • Based primarily at the construction site.
  • May require extended hours depending on project schedule.
  • Exposure to construction site environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹340,854.84 - ₹900,000.00 per year
