Owned Media Marketing Specialist


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, execution, and optimisation of email, push, SMS, and in-app messaging campaigns across global markets.
  • Design and manage lifecycle programs — including welcome, onboarding, engagement, cross-sell, upsell, and reactivation flows — to drive retention, repeat bookings, and customer value.
  • Partner with the Head of Retention to set goals, analyse performance, and deliver measurable improvements across key lifecycle and revenue KPIs.
  • Build and segment customer audiences using behavioural, transactional, and demographic data to support personalised messaging at scale.
  • Create and maintain HTML/CSS email templates within platforms like SendGrid (or similar), supporting campaign deployment, segmentation, testing, and optimisation.
  • Use templating languages such as Handlebars for personalisation, dynamic content, and logic-based messaging.
  • Support automation of campaigns through the SendGrid API and tools like Postman to enable scheduled, programmatic communications.
  • Plan, launch, and optimise push notifications and in-app messages via platforms like OneSignal (or similar), ensuring timely, contextual delivery aligned with user behavior.
  • Run A/B and multivariate tests across creative, copy, timing, and targeting — and apply learnings to improve performance.
  • Collaborate with design, content, product, and engineering teams to ensure messaging is integrated, on-brand, and technically feasible.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant CRM data for hoppa and Elife, in line with privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  • Stay up to date with CRM, lifecycle marketing, and channel best practices and emerging tools.


Skills & Experience

  • 4–6 years' experience in CRM, lifecycle, or retention marketing, with a focus on email, push, SMS, and in-app messaging.
  • Hands-on experience with platforms like SendGrid and OneSignal (or similar), covering both front-end execution and back-end workflows.
  • Proficient in building and editing HTML/CSS email templates, with working knowledge of templating languages (e.g., Handlebars) for dynamic content and personalisation.
  • Comfortable using APIs and tools like Postman to automate campaign workflows and schedule programmatic sends.
  • Strong understanding of mobile channel strategy — including timing, opt-in best practices, and the role of push/in-app messaging in the broader lifecycle journey.
  • Proven ability to build and optimise multi-step, automated journeys that drive engagement and revenue.
  • Experienced in customer segmentation based on behavioural, transactional, and lifecycle data.
  • Knowledge of email deliverability, data compliance (GDPR, CAN-SPAM), and messaging best practices.
  • Analytical thinker who can turn performance data into clear insights and actionable improvements.
  • Background in travel, e-commerce, or marketplace businesses is a plus.
  • Confident working cross-functionally in fast-paced, global environments.
  • Interest or experience in applying AI-driven personalisation and automation—such as predictive send times, generative content, or advanced segmentation—to scale engagement and improve lifecycle performance.
