Content Writer (Marketing Focus) - Devxtra

About Devxtra

Devxtra is not your typical education company. We're a fast-growing developer community in Kochi that's disrupting how tech education works in India.

We're building high-quality developers, creators, and founders through a unique model: scholarship-based learning, industry mentorship, real projects, and earning-while-learning opportunities. In 6 months, we've grown from 4 people to 50+ students and 30+ team members.

The Role

We're hiring a Content Writer with a marketing mindset who can craft compelling copy that drives action—not just pretty words that sit on a page.

Your primary mission? Write scripts for marketing reels, ad copy that converts, captions that engage, and stories that sell our mission. You'll work across multiple platforms (Instagram, Youtube, etc.) and collaborate with our marketing and media teams to create content that grows our brand.

Location: Kalamassery, Kochi (On-site)
Experience: Open to all levels (Freshers to 2+ years)
Salary: ₹15,000 - ₹20,000/month (based on skills and portfolio)

What You'll Do

Core Responsibilities (Must-Haves)

1. Marketing Reel Scripts (PRIMARY FOCUS)

  • Write engaging, conversion-focused scripts for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts
  • Craft scripts for founder videos, co-founder content, and team member posts
  • Understand storytelling beats: hooks, value delivery, calls-to-action
  • Adapt tone and style for different personalities (founder, technical experts, growth coaches)
  • Write both Malayalam-English mix scripts and pure English scripts

2. Ad Copywriting

  • Create high-converting ad copy for Meta (Instagram/Facebook) and LinkedIn campaigns
  • Write multiple variations for A/B testing
  • Craft headlines, body copy, and CTAs that drive clicks and conversions
  • Understand direct response copywriting principles
  • Work with the marketing team to optimize based on performance data

3. Social Media Captions & Content

  • Write daily captions for Devxtra Academy, Storiez, Community pages
  • Create engaging captions for personal brand accounts (Founder, Co-founder, Team leads)
  • Craft Instagram Story copy, poll questions, engagement prompts
  • Write LinkedIn posts that position us as thought leaders
  • Adapt voice and tone for different platforms and audiences

4. Student Success Stories & Testimonials

  • Interview students (or work from recordings) to craft compelling transformation stories
  • Write case studies that showcase real results
  • Turn raw testimonials into emotionally resonant narratives
  • Create "before and after" story formats that inspire prospects

5. Script Writing for Awareness & Educational Content

  • Write scripts for educational reels (explaining concepts, industry insights)
  • Craft awareness campaign scripts (problem-solution frameworks)
  • Develop explainer content that simplifies complex topics
  • Write scripts for event announcements, updates, behind-the-scenes content

Nice-to-Haves

  • Email marketing sequences and newsletters
  • Website copy (landing pages, course descriptions, about pages)
  • Long-form content (blogs, articles, thought leadership pieces)
  • SEO writing basics
  • Basic understanding of analytics (what copy performs and why)
  • Basic design sense to collaborate effectively with designers

Cultural fluency - Comfortable writing in Malayalam-English mix (like how Kerala youth actually speak)
Self-editing - Your first drafts are clean; you don't need heavy hand-holding
Feedback-friendly - Can take direction and iterate quickly

Nice-to-Have:
