Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Manager to oversee and implement robust QA systems for our defence electronics manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Indian defence regulatory frameworks, MIL standards, and high-reliability electronics quality protocols.

Your responsibilities:

Lead the Quality Assurance function for defence-grade electronics systems including RF, embedded systems, and custom SoCs.

Develop, implement, and maintain QMS in compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100D, and MIL-STD-810 / MIL-STD-461 / JSS 55555.

Ensure adherence to DRDO, MoD, DGAQA, and BEL/ISRO quality requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

Define inspection criteria for incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished goods using IPC-A-610, IPC-A-600 standards.

Lead internal and external quality audits, including DGQA inspections, customer audits, and third-party certifications.

Drive RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) for product non-conformities and field returns.

Coordinate with RD and production teams to implement Design for Quality (DFQ) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

Oversee quality documentation and traceability per defence contract requirements and maintain documentation for Defence Aerospace projects.

Maintain calibration, testing, and environmental compliance of lab/test infrastructure (EMI/EMC, vibration, thermal chambers).

Provide QA input in supplier qualification, vendor audits, and strategic sourcing for high-reliability components.

Train team members on quality tools (Six Sigma, 5 Why, 8D, FMEA) and ensure continual improvement.

Skill sets/Experience we require:

B.E./B.Tech in Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering (M.E./M.Tech preferred).

8 15 years of experience in Quality Assurance in defence, aerospace, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing.

Strong understanding of Indian defence procurement processes, DGAQA, DGQA, CQAE, CEMILAC, RCMA procedures, and industry-specific compliance.

Experience with ERP-based QA systems and electronic documentation management.

Familiarity with cleanroom, ESD, and IPC standards.

Certifications like Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, Internal Auditor ISO 9001/AS9100, preferred.
