Job Description

  • Oversee product assortment, implement merchandising strategies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory and drive sales growth within the assigned product category.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of category-specific strategies aligned with overall business goals.
  • Work on defining and optimizing the product assortment within the assigned category, ensuring it meets customer needs and aligns with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate terms, establish partnerships, and ensure the availability of quality products within the category.
  • Oversee inventory levels, collaborating with supply chain and operations teams to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Contribute to pricing strategies for products within the category, considering market conditions, competitor pricing, and profitability goals.
  • Plan and execute promotional campaigns, discounts, and marketing initiatives to drive sales and awareness within the category.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of category plans and initiatives.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities, customer preferences, and potential gaps within the category.
  • Monitor and analyze category performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, making data-driven decisions to improve results.
  • Gather and leverage customer insights to understand preferences, identify emerging trends, and enhance the overall customer experience within the category.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to introduce new products or features within the category, ensuring alignment with market demand.
  • Contribute to financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the category, managing resources efficiently and optimizing costs.
  • Ensure that products within the category comply with relevant regulations and quality standards, collaborating with relevant teams to address any issues.
  • Lead and mentor a team of professionals within the category, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
  • Gather feedback from customers, sales teams, and other stakeholders, using insights to continuously improve category offerings and strategies.
