Introduction –
This is an opportunity to join Oxford University Press, a globally recognized leader in education and publishing. The role is critical in ensuring cost-effective, efficient, and sustainable production processes that support OUP’s mission to deliver high-quality educational content. You will work with innovative technologies, sustainable practices, and cross-functional teams, contributing to strategic production goals and service excellence.

Opportunity
You will oversee the end-to-end print production process for Frontlist and Backlist publishing plans, ensuring efficiency in cost, speed, and quality. Responsibilities include managing procurement activities to optimize costs, planning and monitoring production schedules, and ensuring timely delivery. You will lead cost negotiations, supplier performance evaluations, and budget management. The role involves supporting new product development, implementing quality control measures, and promoting sustainability initiatives. You will collaborate with internal teams such as Editorial, Inventory, Finance, and Sales, as well as external partners including printers and paper merchants.

About You


Essential Criteria:
  • Diploma or Degree in Printing Technology
  • 10 years of experience in printing or book manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of book manufacturing processes including offset/digital printing, binding, and finishing
  • Expertise in production planning, cost negotiation, and supplier management
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO and FSC, and lean manufacturing practices
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and optimize costs
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP is desirable
  • Experience in the book publishing sector is an added advantage

Desirable:
  • Knowledge of sustainable printing practices and industry innovations
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to work cross-functionally
