Job Description

Description About A&M, Global Capability Center In 2023, A&M established a high-quality global capability center in India. The capability center has dedicated centers of expertise which work with A&M leadership across multiple business units and geographies to enable efficient service delivery to A&M clients. The GCC is designed to efficiently and innovatively scale client delivery teams to meet ongoing demands. It helps A&M's global business units expand their talent pool in India, allowing them to hire specialized professionals, maintain competitive pricing, accelerate delivery speeds with a hybrid onshore-offshore team, and leverage automation with top-tier digital and analytics talent. The GCC blends industry and consulting professionals across multiple domains to drive change and add value. Unlike traditional GCC models focused on back-office support, we partner with case teams for end-to-end case delivery and thought leadership. Nearly 90% of our consultants hold advanced degrees, and our leadership team boasts over 1000 years of combined experience. We serve all major markets, including the Americas, EMEA, and APAC, and work across various industries such as Consumer & Retail, Healthcare, Software & Technology, Automotive & Industrials, Hospitality & Leisure, Energy & Natural Resources, and Financial Services. As we embark on this unique journey, the firm is actively seeking to build a strong, capable team for the center. The GCC is growing rapidly and is already a 500+ member team. We are a group of entrepreneurial, action-oriented and results- oriented tax professionals who take a hands-on approach to solving our clients’ problems and helping them reach their potential. We are nimble, resourceful, and proactive but adapt quickly when changes are needed. We offer you opportunities, not a playbook, and we reward you based on your achievements, not your tenure. Considering the pace of targeted growth, we are keen to find people who are entrepreneurial, driven by a passion to drive significant growth (people who can think in multiples of growth rather than percentages), are comfortable with ambiguity, will roll up the sleeves and be hands on to get things done and can be independent requiring limited cover. The role will be initially based in Delhi NCR. However, the person should be open to travel as and when needed. Willing and ability to travel abroad (US) Key Responsibilities As a Manager within Federal Tax you will:  Assist with the tax compliance process by reviewing partners’ estimates, extensions and annual compliance filings for pass through entities;  Independently conduct research and review analysis of a wide variety of tax issues;  Participate in tax-planning and consulting projects;  Attend client calls to understand critical areas of importance and apply tax technical knowledge to specific client situations;  Create deliverables that are concise, complete and address the elements deemed critical by the client;  Mentor Associates and Senior Associates when they are supporting the same projects by delegating appropriate tasks and ensuring they complete tasks efficiently;  Develop others by sharing proven techniques, best practices and procedures;  Support client relationships and demonstrate a working knowledge of client businesses, with opportunity to assume additional responsibility quickly;  Identify opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients by using working knowledge of client businesses; and  Build internal relationships with other members of the Tax team Experience Required  Chartered accountant (or in the process of pursuing)  8+ years of tax compliance and partnership experience in public accounting or professional services (Big 4 experience preferred)  Passthrough entity experience. Corporate experience, including tax provisions, is a plus  Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to establish credibility and influence clients  Strong research, writing, and analytical skills  Proficient in all Microsoft Office products (with an emphasis on Excel) and research software  Experience With GoSystem Tax RS And OneSource Preferred  Ability to simultaneously work on several projects and effectively manage deadlines  High motivation to learn and grow  Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills to excel in a deadline-driven environment Inclusive Diversity A&M’s entrepreneurial culture celebrates independent thinkers and doers who can positively impact our clients and shape our industry. The collaborative environment and engaging work—guided by A&M’s core values of Integrity, Quality, Objectivity, Fun, Personal Reward, and Inclusive Diversity—are the main reasons our people love working at A&M. Inclusive Diversity means we embrace diversity, and we foster inclusiveness, encouraging everyone to bring their whole self to work each day. It runs through how we recruit, develop employees, conduct business, support clients, and partner with vendors. It is the A&M way. Equal Opportunity Employer It is Alvarez & Marsal’s practice to provide and promote equal opportunity in employment, compensation, and other terms and conditions of employment without discrimination because of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, sex or gender, gender identity or gender expression (including transgender status), sexual orientation, marital status, military service and veteran status, physical or mental disability, family medical history, genetic information or other protected medical condition, political affiliation, or any other characteristic protected by and in accordance with applicable laws.
