Take a lead role in planning and implementing environment, health, safety policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with company, state, and local regulations. Drive safe behaviors and work practices through structured education and feedback mechanism. Roles and Responsibilities: Creating and maintaining a safe workplace, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and implementing and enforcing safety policies and procedures Ensure that all employees and contractors adhere to established safety rules and procedures, including proper use of safety equipment. Ensuring regular safety training for employees, covering various aspects of workplace safety, emergency procedures, and hazard recognition Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, maintain records of safety training, inspections, incident reports and equipment maintenance logs. Evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs, and identify areas for improvement by conducting regular inspections, audits, and safety meetings with stakeholders. Collaborate with other departments, management, and external stakeholders to promote a safety-conscious culture. Promote best practices and encourage safety initiatives to ensure the safety program remains effective. Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics Skills and Qualifications: Leadership ability, effective communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in MS Office Knowledge of safety regulations, safety standards, hazard identification, and risk assessment tools is essential.
