Manager, Client Acquisition (Events & Exhibitions)

We are seeking a highly experienced, dynamic, and results-oriented Senior Manager, Client Acquisition. This is a critical leadership role focusing solely on business acquisition, strategic market penetration, and building high-value client relationships. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a proven track record of independently closing deals and driving significant revenue growth in the B2B events and exhibitions space.

Role & responsibilities

I. Client Acquisition & Business Development (Core Focus)

• Targeting & Lead Generation: Proactively identify and target new business opportunities with high-value clients across corporates, government bodies, industry associations, and exhibition organizers.
• Deal Conversion: Own the entire sales lifecyclefrom lead generation and initial discovery to contract negotiation and closing high-value deals for corporate events, exhibitions, and stall fabrication.
• Strategic Proposals: Craft and present tailored, value-driven solutions and high-quality proposals that clearly address client business goals and experiential objectives.
• Market Strategy: Create and implement business strategies to expand market presence, penetrate untapped sectors, and stay ahead of competition and market shifts.

II. Strategic Execution & Industry Expertise

• Consultative Sales: Leverage in-depth industry knowledge to provide consultative advice on venue coordination, fabrication timelines, permitting, and exhibition cycles.
• Internal Collaboration: Act as the senior client liaison, ensuring a smooth transition of client expectations to internal teams (Design, Fabrication, Production, Timeliness) to guarantee quality and successful execution.
• KPI Management: Maintain accurate reporting for leads, proposals, conversions, and revenue targets. Meet and exceed monthly/quarterly sales KPIs and growth objectives.

III. Relationship Management & Leadership

• Senior Client Contact: Act as the senior point of contact for all client matters, nurturing relationships from initial contact through post-event debriefs and thank-you outreach to foster long-term partnerships and referrals.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior sales or BD executives, fostering a culture of high performance and alignment across all proposals.

Networking: Represent the company at trade shows, expos, and client presentations to build strong industry relationships and lead-generation capabilities.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of total experience, with at least 3 years of dedicated experience in the Events & Exhibitions industry.
• Proven Results: Demonstrated, proven ability to independently bring in new business and convert high-value opportunities.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Tamil is mandatory for effective client engagement in the target markets.
• Skills: Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Strong knowledge of event execution, fabrication processes, on-ground management, and budgeting.
• Tools: Familiarity with Google sheets, ppt, proposal formats, and Microsoft Office Suite etc
• Attributes: A strategic thinker, a go-getter with a sharp eye for business potential, and a willingness to travel extensively.
• Due to the nature of the events industry, this role requires round-the-clock responsiveness during active project cycles
