Position Title: Manager – Business Analytics & Platform Administration

Job Location: Hyderabad

Reports To: Director, Business Analytics & POS

Role Summary

The Manager – Business Analytics & Platform Administration will lead the administration, operations, performance optimisation, and governance of enterprise analytics platforms, including SAP RISE, HEC, SAP BODS, SAP BO, Power BI, and SAP HANA DB.

This role requires a seasoned professional with substantial hands-on technical depth and proven leadership in managing support teams, driving system stability, and executing platform upgrades and maintenance.

The candidate will ensure high availability, robust performance, secure access models, and smooth delivery of analytics services for global business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Administration

  • Lead the administration and operational management of SAP RISE, HEC, BODS, BO, Power BI, and HANA DB.
  • Oversee version upgrades, patching cycles, system refreshes, and environment management (Dev/QA/Prod).
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture, governance, and compliance standards.

Performance & Reliability

  • Monitor platform health, performance, capacity, and usage metrics.
  • Execute performance tuning across BODS ETL jobs, BO reports, Power BI dashboards, and HANA DB.
  • Drive root-cause analysis and resolution for system issues to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.

Security & Access Management

  • Develop and maintain security models across BO, HANA, and Power BI.
  • Manage user provisioning, role-based access, and data security policies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal audit, governance, and regulatory standards.

Team Leadership

  • Manage, mentor, and develop an admin/support team, ensuring SLA adherence and service excellence.
  • Allocate workload, monitor team performance, and enable continuous skill development.
  • Build a collaborative and high-performance culture aligned with organizational goals.

Support & Incident Management

  • Oversee L2/L3 support operations for analytics platforms.
  • Ensure timely closure of incidents, problem tickets, and service requests.
  • Establish knowledge base, SOPs, and best practices to improve operational efficiency.

Maintenance Planning & Execution

  • Lead the planning and execution of maintenance windows, scheduled downtimes, upgrades, and deployments.
  • Coordinate with architecture, DBA, infrastructure, and security teams for change implementation.
  • Ensure all changes follow ITIL change-management processes.

Project Delivery & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive modernisation, optimisation, and automation initiatives across analytics platforms.
  • Collaborate with technical architects to design scalable and secure BI environments.
  • Lead analytics-related projects, including migrations, platform enhancements, and performance uplift initiatives.

Required Skills & Competencies:

Technical Expertise

  • Strong hands-on administration experience with:
    • SAP RISE, SAP HEC, SAP BODS, SAP BO, Power BI, SAP HANA DB (added advantage)
  • Proficiency in system upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Understanding of data pipelines, BI governance, and reporting ecosystems.

Leadership & Management

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing technical/support teams.
  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 12 years of professional experience in analytics/BI platform administration.
  • Certifications in SAP, Power BI, or cloud technologies are preferred.
