Manager -Civil
Job Objective: Ensure that the Field QA Management System is in place. Also Ensure and Assure the Plant Construction and O&M Management that the Plant being constructed is meeting the applicable FQP requirements.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Strategic, Operational, People, Financial Responsibilities
Job Responsibility:
People
- Planning & Staffing of QA manpower, including its demobilization.
- Quality staff Induction and certification
- Day-to-day management of the QA staff
- Grievance handling of the Quality & construction staff
Operational Process
- Ensure compliance to FQ procedures including QA System.
- Institutionalized Quality sunrise and sunset meetings to review progress, plan the day’s activities, and resolve issues, if any.
- Ensure RFIs are attended and dispositioned timely as per FQP.
- Analyse the quality issues to take corrective and preventive issues.
- Preparation & release of weekly site QA report.
- Analyse the quality of staff productivity & improve at site level.
- Attend Project Sunrise and any other meeting requested by the PD
- Communicating QA requirements to Vendors
1.Quality Assurance & Control:
oEnsure that all civil construction activities are executed in compliance with approved quality standards, project specifications, and contractual obligations.
oPrepare, Implement and maintain the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) procedures specific to civil works.
2.Site Inspections & Monitoring:
oRegularly coordinate at all the sites about regular inspections of civil works, including foundations for solar panels, inverter rooms, control buildings, cable trenches, roads, drainage, and fencing.
oSupervise and monitor civil engineering activities like excavation, concrete pouring, compaction, and reinforcement to ensure compliance with design specifications.
oEnsure proper testing of construction materials (concrete, steel, aggregates, etc.) and review the results for conformity with quality standards.
3.Documentation & Reporting:
oPrepare and maintain detailed quality inspection reports, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and corrective actions.
oMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of all quality control activities, including material approvals, test results, and inspection reports.
oEnsure all project documentation (drawings, quality plans, test results) is properly managed and readily accessible.
4.Continuous Improvement:
oRecommend process improvements for the civil construction phase to enhance quality and efficiency.
oIncorporate lessons learned from past projects into current and future civil quality management practices.
5.Training & Mentoring:
oTrain and mentor site engineers, supervisors, and contractors on quality standards, best practices, and quality control procedures for civil works.
oConduct quality awareness sessions and ensure team members are up to date with the latest industry standards and project requirements.
6.Handover & Final Documentation:
oEnsure all quality documentation, including final inspection reports, test certificates, and "as-built" drawings, are compiled and handed over at project completion.
oParticipate in project close-out activities and final handover to the client, ensuring that all civil works meet the agreed-upon quality standards.
- Regular Coordination with Quality and execution team across project sites for driving the Quality Management Standards
- Ensure that the Quality related risks are identified, controlled, and mitigated across the Projects.
- Must be excellent knowledge of Mix-Design, Concrete, Civil Lab test and site activates procedures.
- Drive Quality performance monitoring, data analysis & reporting. Develop Quality training modules, drive training and continual improvement programs.
- Promotes utilization of statistical and problem-solving techniques.
- Creates and implements inspection criteria and procedures and equipment.
- Plays active role on quality management teams within organization.
- Oversight and responsibility to ensure site maintains adherence to Quality KPIs and takes timely action to address adverse trends and deviations. Continuously monitors and partakes in global forums to assess opportunities for improvement
- Must develop QA/AC plan for vendors and for construction activities and must ensures the same is being follow by all.
Work Experience: >10 years
Qualification & Certification Required:
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- Knowledge of ISO-9001
- 7 QC Tool
