Logistics Manager

Job Summary: The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing all logistics operations to ensure timely, cost-effective, and efficient movement of goods. This role involves planning and monitoring the supply chain, supervising staff, negotiating with vendors, ensuring compliance with regulations, and optimizing logistics processes to meet the company’s operational goals. Key Responsibilities: 1. Logistics Planning & Coordination Develop and implement logistics strategies for timely delivery of goods. Plan routes and manage transportation schedules to optimize delivery timelines and costs. 2. Vendor & Carrier Management Negotiate rates and contracts with freight forwarders, transport companies, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers. Monitor vendor performance and ensure service quality. 3. Inventory & Warehouse Management Coordinate with warehouse teams to manage storage, stock movement, and order dispatch. Oversee inventory control and stock accuracy. 4. Compliance & Documentation Ensure all logistics operations comply with company policies, government regulations, and safety standards. Maintain accurate records for shipments, customs clearance, and delivery documentation. 5. Team Leadership Supervise, train, and mentor logistics staff. Monitor team performance and set clear KPIs. 6. Cost Control & Process Improvement Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality. Streamline logistics processes for better efficiency. 7. Problem Resolution Handle shipment delays, damaged goods, and delivery disputes promptly. Provide solutions to improve customer satisfaction. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent negotiation and vendor management abilities. Knowledge of logistics software, ERP, and inventory management systems. Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability. Good communication skills for coordination across departments and with external partners. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred). 1-2 years of experience in logistics or supply chain, with at least 1 year in a managerial role. Experience in import/export operations is an advantage. Work Conditions: Office and warehouse environment. May require travel for vendor meetings and site visits. Flexibility to work beyond standard hours when needed.
