This position resides in the Global Cement Supply Chain Organization is responsible for providing logistics support for the business areas across North America.
The department
It is expected that this position would be one of a team of shippers who support the regional purchasing activities within a cross-functional procurement team. The Logistics Analyst will complete the day-to-day movement of freight both domestically and globally. This includes providing all transportation and customs documents, contracting carriage, and coordinating with transport companies, customers, suppliers, customs brokers, etc. to ensure goods are delivered on time and in accordance with revenue goals.
Your Responsibilities
Working with international freight forwarders, courier/LTL/truckload carriers, logistics companies, customs brokers, customers, vendors, internal offices, etc. to coordinate transportation.
- Freight quoting, cost analysis, rate comparison, routing and carrier selection.
- Customs compliance and documentation (both import and export).
- Ensuring transportation movement and billing are per contractual Incoterms.
- Shipping documentation including BOL’s, waybills, COO’s (FTA and non-FTA), commercial invoices, SLI’s, packing declarations, packing lists, etc.
- Application of global FTA’s and knowledge of rules and procedures.
- Ensuring packaging standards are met for designated modes of transport, including ISPM-15 compliance and procurement of packing services.
- Tariff classification of goods.
- Providing logistics assistance to suppliers and customers.
- Logging and tracking of shipments and providing updates as requested.
- Freight invoice auditing and coding.
- Freight claims filing and management.
- Using ERP system to determine proper routing of inbound and outbound finished and semi-finished goods.
- Ensuring delivery deadlines and revenue plans are achieved.
- Professionally communicate with internal and external customers and vendors.
- Other continuous improvement initiatives, special projects, or general office duties as assigned
What You Bring
Previous logistics experience preferred with 2 to 5 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or business preferred. Equivalent experience acceptable.
- Knowledge of Mining and Cement equipment is preferred.
- Individual should possess a sense of urgency, be proactive, customer-driven, and motivated.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, good time management skills.
