Our team consists of passionate professionals driven by a shared vision of creating a greener and more sustainable future through innovation, technology, and excellence.The Local Support Team Director will lead the Local Support Team (LST) at VinFast’s overseas manufacturing site, overseeing vehicle localization efforts and ensuring alignment with VinFast engineering standards. This strategic role is responsible for team performance, escalation management, and cross-functional coordination across engineering, manufacturing, and quality domains.
Leadership & Governance
- Oversee the full LST team, including Managers (T4) and Module Engineers (T5–T6).
- Define and standardize ways of working across sites.
- Represent engineering in program gate reviews and executive meetings.
Cross-Functional Interface
- Serve as the primary escalation point between the overseas plant and HQ.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, SQE, AFS, and supplier development teams.
- Ensure seamless integration of localized components into vehicle programs.
Performance & Compliance
- Monitor team KPIs across readiness, localization effectiveness, and operational independence.
- Ensure compliance with engineering, production, and regulatory standards.
- Drive continuous improvement and corrective action plans.
Strategic Oversight
- Own budget authority for LST operations.
- Align localization strategy with program milestones and market requirements.
- Support supplier onboarding and validation for Tier 1 local partners
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in automotive engineering or localization leadership.
- Proven track record in managing cross-functional teams and international operations.
- Strong understanding of vehicle development lifecycle and quality systems.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in localization programs in emerging markets.
- Familiarity with VinFast systems and global engineering standards.
