Line In Charge – SPD E&A Maintenance

Location

Special Product Division (SPD) – Electrical & Automation Maintenance

Reporting To

Maintenance Head / Shift In-Charge – SPD

Job Purpose

To ensure uninterrupted, safe, and efficient operation of Electrical & Automation systems in the Special Product Division by executing preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance. The role focuses on high-quality troubleshooting, system reliability, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

PLC, Drives & Automation Systems

Perform hands-on maintenance, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting of Siemens and ABB PLCs, drives, and industrial automation systems.
Maintain and calibrate thickness gauges and associated automation equipment to ensure process accuracy and product quality.
Support automation modifications, upgrades, and commissioning activities.

Preventive Maintenance

Plan and execute scheduled preventive maintenance for electrical and automation equipment to improve equipment reliability and availability.
Ensure adherence to preventive maintenance checklists and maintenance calendars.

Predictive Maintenance

Apply condition monitoring techniques such as trend analysis, parameter monitoring, and early fault detection to prevent unplanned breakdowns.
Analyze recurring failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Spare Parts Management

Manage critical electrical and automation spares, ensuring timely availability and optimal inventory levels.
Coordinate with stores and procurement for indenting, replacement, and standardization of spares.

Troubleshooting & Breakdown Handling

Provide quick and effective troubleshooting for electrical, instrumentation, and automation failures to minimize downtime.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term solutions.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and equipment history records accurately.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory requirements, and internal regulatory norms.
Adhere to ISO, TPM, and EHS guidelines during all maintenance activities.

Educational Qualification

Diploma / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering.

Experience

4–8 years of relevant experience in Electrical & Automation maintenance in steel, metals, or heavy manufacturing industries.
Exposure to SPD / Cold Rolling / Finishing lines will be an added advantage.
