As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and community banking technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

• Defines and drives adoption of a best in class monitoring frameworks to accomplish end to end application or service monitoring and noiseless alerting end application or service monitoring and noiseless alerting with proper telemetry

• Identify application patterns and analytics in support of better service level objectives

• Leads and drives Public Cloud Journey and best practices in collaboration with Application Development teams

• Deploys sustainable & resilient software, system and product upgrades

• Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems to ensure permanent closure of incidents and supports solutions for closure

• Engage with development team throughout the life cycle to help develop software for reliability and scale, ensuring minimal refactoring or changes

• Lead and participate in performance tests, identifies the bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization and capacity demand

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience

• Expertise in at least one technology stack designing, coding, testing, and delivering software with one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g. Java, Python)

• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., bash, PowerShell, Oracle PL/SQL) to automate tasks and manipulate data

• Experience with resolving application function and system customer support issues

• Experience with Agile and full software development life cycle disciplines

• Designs and contributes to performance monitoring and capacity management tools( Grafana, AppDynamics, Splunk)

• Able to work on multiple large projects that have business impact and to be self-initiated. Should be able to provide supporting data or communicate business value of the projects.

• Leadership and team management experience. Setting up direction, vision, clear communication and mentorship for the team.

• Proficiency in one or more technology domains, may be a cross-domain expert able to solve complex and mission critical problems within a business or across the firm

• Working knowledge of infrastructure components (e.g. routers, load balancers, cloud products, container systems, compute, storage, and networks)

• Excellent debugging and trouble shooting skills
