Lead Engineer

Role: Senior Engineer Technical Lead Module Lead

Location: Pune Work from office

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Developer with 5 to 12 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable software systems. The ideal candidate will have strong programming expertise in C, C++, hands-on experience with database development, and a solid understanding of DevOps practices. This role involves working on high-performance backend systems, developing APIs, and supporting CI and CD pipelines in a collaborative, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Leadership

• Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for critical systems and platforms.

• Lead design reviews, code reviews, and architectural discussions across teams.

• Set and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality benchmarks.

2. System Design and Development

• Architect and develop robust, scalable, and secure software systems.

• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools.

• Solve complex engineering problems with innovative and efficient solutions.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with product managers, architects, DevOps, and QA to align technical solutions with business goals.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

• Influence product direction through deep technical insight and domain expertise.

4. Mentorship and Team Development

• Mentor and coach senior and junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

• Lead by example in technical execution, ownership, and accountability.

• Contribute to talent development, hiring, and technical onboarding processes.

5. Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.

• Drive proof-of-concepts (POCs) and evaluate new tools and frameworks.

• Promote a culture of experimentation, performance optimization, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• More than 10 years of experience in software/system/platform engineering, with a strong track record of technical leadership.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in C, C++, and Java programming languages.

• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.

• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and SQL.

• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Experience with CI and CD pipelines and version control systems like Git.

• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies and collaborative development practices.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in distributed systems, high-availability architectures, or real-time processing.

• Exposure to data engineering, machine learning pipelines, or IoT platforms.

• Certifications in cloud architecture, DevOps, or security are a plus.

• Experience working in Agile, Scrum environments and using tools like Jira, Confluence, Git.
