Job Summary:


ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping Engineer


Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain

    ServiceNow Discovery

    and

    Automated Service Mapping

    to ensure accurate and actionable CMDB data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, application, network, and security to identify and map services and dependencies.
  • Develop and optimize

    patterns

    ,

    probes

    , and

    sensors

    to enhance discovery accuracy and coverage.
  • Troubleshoot discovery and mapping issues, including MID Server connectivity, credential failures, and CI relationship gaps.
  • Ensure CMDB data integrity through reconciliation, normalization, and lifecycle management.
  • Document processes, configurations, and service maps for operational transparency and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and compliance standards.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with

    ServiceNow Discovery

    and

    Service Mapping

    .
  • Strong understanding of

    CMDB architecture

    ,

    CI relationships

    , and

    ITIL processes

    .
  • Experience with

    network protocols

    (SNMP, SSH, WMI),

    MID Server deployment

    , and

    credential management

    .
  • Proficiency in

    JavaScript

    ,

    regex

    , and ServiceNow scripting.
  • Familiarity with

    cloud platforms

    (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure environments.

    CI/CD pipelines

    infrastructure as code

  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with third-party tools (e.g., SCCM, vCenter).
