Lead Backend Engineer

Job Description

We’re looking for a Lead Backend Engineer based in Pune. Working closely with the Engineering and Product teams, you’ll be responsible for scaling, improving, and maintaining the platform Design, develop and maintain a scalable backend architecture for the LoanBook platform Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle and continuously strive to improve the SDLC process. Provide application support for our microservices platform hosted on AWS. Microservices are predominately written in Spring boot (Java) Be a subject matter expert and a focal point on all application support matters. Help in analysing code, troubleshooting issues, deliver enhancements and perform bug fixes. Support external application & data interfaces from various data providers and our partners. What we look for Must haves: 8+ years' experience and background working with Java /SpringBoot framework Ability to lead a small team in Pune , India Excellent understanding of best practices and ability to plan well to deliver pragmatic solutions, balancing design, quality, and speed Strong problem-solving skills with an appreciation for simplicity in code Solid understanding of object-oriented programming Strong Experience with relational database, preferably with PostgreSQL Good understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git/GitHub Experience with any container platform like Kubernetes. Experience with any cloud platform like AWS Strong Familiarity with concepts of Microservices and REST Knowledge on writing test cases with JUnit and mocking frameworks like Mockito. Desirables/Preferred qualities : Experience in financial services / fintech product-based companies. other backend technologies like Python and FE tech as React.JS Show more Show less
