Lead Backend Engineer

As a Lead Backend Engineer based in Pune, you will play a crucial role in collaborating with the Engineering and Product teams to scale, enhance, and maintain the platform. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing, developing, and maintaining a scalable backend architecture for the LoanBook platform. - Contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle and continuously improving the SDLC process. - Providing application support for the microservices platform hosted on AWS, predominantly written in Spring Boot (Java). - Serving as a subject matter expert and a focal point for all application support matters. - Assisting in code analysis, issue troubleshooting, delivering enhancements, and performing bug fixes. - Supporting external application & data interfaces from various data providers and partners. Qualifications Required: - 8+ years of experience with Java/Spring Boot framework. - Ability to lead a small team in Pune, India. - Excellent understanding of best practices for planning and delivering pragmatic solutions with a balance of design, quality, and speed. - Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on simplicity in code. - Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming. - Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL. - Proficiency in code versioning tools like Git/GitHub. - Familiarity with container platforms like Kubernetes and cloud platforms like AWS. - Good understanding of Microservices and REST concepts. - Knowledge of writing test cases with JUnit and mocking frameworks like Mockito. Additionally, the following qualities are preferred: - Experience in financial services/fintech product-based companies. - Familiarity with other backend technologies like Python and front-end technologies such as React.JS.
