Role overview

The Junior Salesforce Developer will transform business requirements into scalable Salesforce configurations and custom development, working on both client projects and in-house accelerators under the guidance of seniors. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders and senior team members to design, build, and maintain high-quality Salesforce applications, support integrations, and participate in code reviews.

Note: Candidates currently based in Bangalore, India, are strongly preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, customising, and maintaining Salesforce applications using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and triggers under the guidance of senior developers.
  • Support the development and testing of integrations using REST and SOAP APIs to connect Salesforce with other systems and applications.
  • Translate business needs into scalable Salesforce configurations and technical solutions with input from senior team members and stakeholders.
  • Participate in designing, building, testing, and deploying Salesforce solutions while adhering to established best practices and coding standards.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining integrations with other applications and systems using web services and APIs.
  • Implement and maintain automation flows (e.g., Flow, Process Builder where applicable) to streamline business processes.
  • Troubleshoot and help resolve issues related to Salesforce applications, integrations, and automation, escalating complex issues to senior team members when needed.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment as part of the project team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements and implement solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Contribute to Salesforce solutions for both client engagements and Selah Digital’s own products and accelerators, ensuring reusable, scalable configurations and components.
  • Stay up to date on Salesforce best practices, new features, release updates, and functionalities to ensure the platform is used effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with Salesforce security, data protection, and development standards.
  • Document technical processes, including configuration details, user guides, release notes, and design documents.
  • Support Salesforce system administration tasks and core functionalities as needed.

Objectives of the Role

  • Optimise existing Salesforce configurations and improve processes based on Salesforce capabilities and stakeholder feedback.
  • Support, maintain, and improve existing Salesforce applications for optimal stability and performance.
  • Identify and propose system improvements through collaboration with stakeholders, administrators, and developers.
  • Help maintain accurate, consistent, and secure data within the Salesforce platform.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of demonstrable professional experience in Salesforce development and customisation (excluding internships and academic projects).
  • Hands-on experience with Apex, SOQL, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
  • Good understanding of core Salesforce administration, Salesforce Lightning Experience, and Salesforce Sales Cloud, with exposure to at least one of Service Cloud or Experience Cloud.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce data models, including standard and custom objects, relationships, and fields.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, including the ability to create clear technical notes and user-facing documentation.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and work well in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I, App Builder, or Administrator.
  • Experience with web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for building or enhancing Salesforce front-end components.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Experience Cloud and Marketing Cloud is a plus.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD processes (e.g., using Git, pipelines, or release management tools) is an advantage.
  • Exposure to Salesforce Health Cloud is a plus, especially for candidates with an interest in healthcare or health-tech projects.
