1. Position Overview
The Junior Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations for the fine-dine restaurant chain, including billing, vendor payments, purchase entries, store consumption reports, GST support, and petty cash management. The role ensures accurate bookkeeping and smooth financial functioning across all outlets.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Daily Accounting
• Record daily sales, discounts, void bills, and cash/card/UPI summaries from POS (Petpooja / Zomato / Swiggy).
• Match outlet cash deposits with daily sales reports.
• Verify KOT/BOT and tally with physical cash & system reports.
B. Purchase & Inventory Management
• Enter purchase bills in accounting software (Tally/Zoho Books).
• Match purchase orders with GRN (Goods Received Note).
• Coordinate with Storekeeper for stock reports and consumption variance.
• Maintain vendor ledger and reconcile payments.
C. Banking
• Prepare daily bank reconciliation statements.
• Track NEFT/RTGS/IMPS/UPI payments.
• Deposit cash/cheques and maintain deposit slips.
D. Vendor & Expense Management
• Maintain vendor database and payment cycles.
• Process payments after due approvals.
• Handle petty cash expenses of outlets and maintain vouchers.
• Track recurring expenses (rent, utilities, service AMC, etc.).
E. Statutory & Compliance Support
• Support in monthly GST input/output reconciliation.
• Prepare data for PF/ESIC/Professional Tax coordination (if required).
• Assist in audit documentation and internal checks.
F. Reporting
• Prepare weekly MIS reports for management:
• Sales summary
• Expense report
• Purchase summary
• Cash & bank position
• Escalate discrepancies in stock, wastage, or outlet billing.
3. Skills & Competencies
• Strong knowledge of Tally / Zoho / Busy accounting software.
• Good understanding of restaurant billing systems & POS.
• Basic understanding of GST, TDS, vendor ledgers, and bank reconciliations.
• Good Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table preferred).
• Detail-oriented, organised, and able to work under deadlines.
4. Qualifications & Experience
• B.Com / M.Com / BBA (Finance) or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in accounting (restaurant/hospitality experience preferred).
• Freshers with strong internship experience may also be considered.
