 IT support MES (Manufacturing Execution System) job role involves ensuring the effective operation of manufacturing software systems, which monitor and control production. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting issues, optimizing system performance, configuring MES solutions to meet production needs, and providing technical support and training to users. This role bridges the gap between IT and manufacturing, requiring an understanding of both software systems and production processes to maintain efficiency, quality, and compliance in the manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and Resolution:

• Identify and resolve issues with the MES software and hardware to ensure uninterrupted production operations. 

• System Maintenance and Optimization:

• Monitor system performance, implement updates, and make necessary adjustments to optimize the MES for efficiency and quality. 

• Implementation and Configuration:

• Assist in the implementation and configuration of new MES systems and integrate them with other enterprise systems like ERP. 

• Data Management and Analysis:

• Collect and analyze real-time data from the shop floor to identify bottlenecks, track production, and improve decision-making. 

• User Support and Training:

• Provide technical assistance to production staff and develop training materials to help them use the MES effectively. 

• Documentation:

• Create and maintain technical documentation, including protocols, reports, and user guides, for the MES. 

• Quality Assurance

• Ensure the MES supports quality management by tracking deviations and exceptions, contributing to improved quality control.
