About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist to join our dynamic team at McLaren Strategic Solutions. In this role, you will be the frontline point of contact for our clients and internal teams, providing technical assistance and resolving a wide range of IT issues. Your expertise will help ensure seamless technology operations, minimize downtime, and enhance user productivity. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting diverse technologies including hardware, software, networking, and mobile devices. Flexibility in working hours, including rotational shifts and extended hours, is essential to meet our clients’ needs effectively.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in IT support with relevant experience in technical troubleshooting and customer service. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent are advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in managing and supporting various hardware and software environments, with strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure. Experience with incident management systems, remote support tools, and documentation practices is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Respond to requests for technical assistance by phone, email, chat.
- Manage incidents and problems in the incident management system.
- Act as a liaison between users and technical escalation teams.
- Follow-up on open incidents and provide status updates.
- Escalate problems to appropriate teams when required.
- Maintain hygiene in ticket documentation and overall ticket quality.
- Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used by the firm.
- Encourage users to utilize self-help resources and demonstrate common issue solutions.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to desktops, laptops, mobile devices, Cisco Phones.
- Configure and troubleshoot virtual computers hosted via ESX servers.
- Troubleshoot Microsoft Office applications suite including Teams, O365.
- Resolve issues related to VPN, RSA SecurID, and corporate applications on mobile devices.
- Support Cisco Phones, IP Phones, Jabber, Zoom, and other communication tools.
- Work extended hours when business needs require.
- Maintain flexibility to work in rotational shifts and during week-offs.
- Work effectively under high-pressure situations, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
