Job Title: Interior Designer (Cafe & Retail Projects) Location: Gurgaon About Us: "We are a rapidly expanding cafe and icecream parlour chain dedicated to creating unique and inviting spaces that enhance the customer experience. we are looking for a talented and driven Interior Designer to lead the aesthetic development of our cafes across India. Job Summary: We are seeking a highly creative and experienced Interior Designer to join our team. This role will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and overseeing the execution of interior designs for our cafes nationwide. The ideal candidate will possess a keen understanding of space optimization, customer flow, and brand aesthetics, with a proven ability to translate vision into reality while managing projects from inception to completion. This role requires extensive travel and strong leadership skills to guide projects and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. Responsibilities: Design & Conceptualization:Develop innovative and functional interior design concepts for new and existing cafe locations, tailored to specific spatial requirements and brand guidelines. Create detailed design presentations, including mood boards, 2D layouts, 3D renderings, material boards, and furniture selections. Ensure all designs are compliant with local building codes, safety regulations, and accessibility standards. Research and specify appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) that align with design aesthetics, durability, and budget. Project Supervision & Management:Supervise the execution of interior design projects on-site across India, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and timelines. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address design-related issues, and provide guidance to contractors and vendors. Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, vendors, and internal teams (operations, marketing, construction) to ensure seamless project delivery. Manage project budgets related to interior design elements, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality. Troubleshoot design and construction challenges, proposing effective and timely solutions. Space Optimization & Functionality:Analyze existing and proposed cafe layouts to optimize space utilization, customer flow, and operational efficiency. Design bespoke solutions that maximize seating capacity, improve workflow for staff, and enhance overall customer experience. Consider ergonomic principles and user comfort in all design decisions. Leadership & Collaboration:Demonstrate strong leadership in guiding design projects, motivating teams, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, providing clear design direction and regular project updates. Mentor and potentially lead junior design staff as the team grows. Vendor Management:Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors to procure high-quality materials and services. Negotiate favorable terms and ensure timely delivery of all interior design components. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in interior design, with a strong portfolio showcasing experience in commercial projects, preferably hospitality, retail, or F&B (cafes, restaurants). Proven experience in managing and supervising design projects from concept to completion. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3D rendering software (e.g., V-Ray, Enscape), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign). Strong understanding of interior design principles, materials, finishes, lighting, and furniture. Excellent spatial reasoning and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and aesthetics. Demonstrated leadership qualities, including strong communication, interpersonal, and team management skills. Ability to travel extensively across India as required. Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in India is a plus.
