Job Role: Interior Project Manager

Overview:

The Interior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the execution of interior design and fit-out projects from concept to completion. The role demands strong technical expertise, on-site management capability, and coordination between design, engineering, and execution teams to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Execution & Coordination:

  • Oversee all aspects of live interior projects on-site — from mobilization to handover. Ensure design intent is implemented accurately and efficiently.

  • Vendor & Contractor Management:

  • Liaise with multiple vendors, contractors, and fabricators. Negotiate costs, monitor performance, and ensure timely delivery of materials and workmanship quality.

  • Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a team of site supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors. Allocate responsibilities, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to timelines.

  • Technical Expertise:

  • Interpret and implement technical drawings, GFCs, and 3D renderings with a clear understanding of joinery, MEP, ceiling, flooring, and other interior fit-out details.

  • Quality Control & Site Supervision:

  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure high-quality finishes, compliance with safety standards, and alignment with client-approved designs and specifications.

  • Client & Consultant Coordination:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between the client, design team, and contractors. Manage approvals, changes, and updates professionally.

  • Budgeting & Cost Control:

  • Prepare and track BOQs, project budgets, and cost estimates. Ensure procurement and execution stay within approved budgets.

  • Project Scheduling:

  • Develop and monitor project timelines, coordinate work sequencing, and proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks or delays.

  • Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed project documentation including site reports, progress updates, RFI logs, and material approvals.

  • Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, building codes, and statutory requirements throughout the project duration.

  • Problem-Solving & Adaptability:

  • Address on-site challenges quickly with practical, design-sensitive, and cost-efficient solutions.

  • Software & Tools:

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, MS Project (or equivalent), and basic rendering tools preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5–10 years of experience in interior project management or fit-out execution.
  • Strong understanding of design drawings, material specifications, and site execution methodology.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
