RINA is currently recruiting for a 
Inspection Senior RBI Engineer
 to join its office in Chennai within the 
Operations and Maintenance Engineering
 Division.
Mission
The Senior RBI Engineer plays a pivotal role in optimizing inspection strategies within the Oil & Gas facilities or power plant by implementing risk-based inspection methodologies. Their mission is to assess the integrity of equipment and facilities, prioritize inspection activities based on risk assessment, and develop cost-effective inspection plans to ensure asset reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Key Accountabilities
'Risk Assessment and Analysis:
-  Conduct risk assessments of equipment and infrastructure using RBI methodologies.
-  Identify and evaluate potential failure modes, consequences, and likelihood of failure.
-  Analyze risk data to prioritize inspection activities according to risk levels.
 
Inspection Planning and Optimization:
-  Develop risk-based inspection plans tailored to specific equipment and process units.
-  Determine appropriate inspection techniques, frequencies, and inspection intervals based on risk assessment results.
-  Optimize inspection schedules to minimize downtime and maximize asset integrity.
 
Data Management and Documentation:
-  Maintain comprehensive records of inspection data, risk assessments, and inspection plans.
-  Utilize software tools and databases to manage RBI data and documentation effectively.
-  Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of RBI data for informed decision-making.
 
Continuous Improvement and Compliance:
-  Identify opportunities for optimization and improvement of RBI processes and methodologies.
-  Stay abreast of industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to RBI and asset integrity management.
-  Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations governing inspection activities.
 
Communication and Collaboration:
-  Communicate RBI findings, recommendations, and inspection plans to stakeholders, including engineering teams, inspection and asset integrity personnel, and management.
-  Foster a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement within the organization.
 
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
Qualifications
+10 years of experience, will be responsible for technical co-ordination, shall be API 571 Certified, shall be able to conduct RBI assessments.preferably be a member of the API-581 committee and/or expert of other industry best practice is recommended.Knowledge of corrosion and degradation mechanisms affecting upstream and refining industry.Knowledge of API-580/581 principles (API 580 certifications will be considered as plus)Bachelor’s Degree in Chemcal or Material Engineering.
-  Extensive experience (10+ years) in risk-based inspection, integrity management, or asset reliability engineering within the Oil & Gas facilities or power plant industry.
-  Proficiency in RBI methodologies, such as API RP 580/581, ASME PCC-3, or equivalent standards.
-  Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and perform risk assessments.
-  Familiarity with inspection techniques, non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, and fitness-for-service assessment.
-  Knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations, such as API, ASME, and OSHA.
-  Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
-  Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality, accuracy, and compliance in all aspects of work.
