Job Description

Job Title: Import Procurement

Department: Supply Chain / Procurement

Reports To: Head – SCM / Purchase Manager

Location: Rajouri Garden, New Delhi

Employment Type: Full-time

(Male candidate preferred)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Vendor Management & Sourcing

  • Identify and develop reliable international suppliers for raw materials, components, and finished goods.
  • Evaluate vendor quotations to ensure the best quality and pricing.
  • Maintain supplier database and track supplier performance.

2. Purchase Planning & Negotiation

  • Prepare and process purchase orders for imported goods.
  • Negotiate payment terms, incoterms, delivery schedules, and freight conditions.
  • Ensure purchase decisions align with budget and lead time requirements.

3. Import Documentation & Coordination

  • Handle complete import documentation — Proforma Invoice, Purchase Order, Bill of Lading, Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, etc.
  • Coordinate with CHA (Customs House Agent), freight forwarders, and shipping lines for smooth clearance.
  • Ensure compliance with import regulations, DGFT norms, and customs duty structure.

4. Logistics & Shipment Tracking

  • Monitor shipment status and manage logistics for timely arrival.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (warehouse, finance, accounts) for goods receipt and payments.
  • Ensure proper coordination for port clearance and transportation to the plant/warehouse.

5. Cost Control & Reporting

  • Track landed cost including freight, duty, insurance, and other expenses.
  • Maintain MIS reports on import status, cost analysis, and supplier performance.
  • Support management in strategic sourcing and cost optimization.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of import/export documentation and INCO terms.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail and time management.
  • Ability to handle multiple import shipments simultaneously.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Education: Graduate / Postgraduate in Supply Chain, International Business, or Commerce.
  • Experience: 3–8 years in Import Procurement

Preferred Industry: Trading, Manufacturing, or Paper
