Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Import & Export Manager to oversee all international trade operations. The role involves managing import and export activities, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, coordinating with freight forwarders, optimizing supply chain processes, and driving cost efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of global trade regulations and excellent negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Import Management:

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor all inbound shipments to ensure timely delivery.
  • Verify product classification (HS Codes), duties, and taxes for all imported goods.
  • Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth clearance.
  • Maintain accurate import documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.

2. Export Management:

  • Oversee export processes, ensuring compliance with trade laws, sanctions, and international shipping regulations.
  • Prepare export documentation (shipping instructions, COO, LC, commercial invoices, etc.).
  • Ensure timely dispatch of goods and track shipments to meet customer timelines.
  • Coordinate with logistics partners for best shipping routes, rates, and lead times.

3. Compliance & Regulatory Affairs:

  • Ensure strict adherence to international trade laws, import/export documentation, and customs compliance.
  • Keep updated on changes in government trade policies and advise management.
  • Implement internal SOPs to ensure audit-ready operations.

4. Cost Control & Vendor Management:

  • Negotiate shipping and freight contracts to achieve cost savings.
  • Analyze import/export costs (duties, freight, insurance) to optimize profitability.
  • Maintain vendor and supplier relationships for better pricing and service quality.

5. Reporting & Process Improvement:

  • Provide regular reports on shipment status, costs, and compliance.
  • Suggest improvements for logistics efficiency, cost reduction, and faster clearances.
  • Train and guide team members in trade compliance and documentation processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 2 to 3+ years of experience in import/export operations and logistics management.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, international trade regulations, customs procedures, and HS coding.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Office, and trade documentation tools.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹21,362.42 - ₹35,382.09 per month
