Key Responsibilities:
o Communicate with overseas suppliers regarding order status, product details, and shipment schedules.
o Maintain professional and timely correspondence through email, phone, or online platforms. Strong communication skills (international dealings) required.
o Ensure accurate documentation exchange (PI, Packing List, Invoice, BL, COO, etc.).
o Negotiate product pricing and payment terms with foreign suppliers.
o Compare quotes from multiple suppliers and secure the best possible rates.
o Evaluate landed cost and identify cost-saving opportunities.
o Plan and forecast monthly/quarterly import requirements based on sales and inventory.
o Coordinate with suppliers and freight forwarders for booking schedules.
o Track shipments from origin to destination, ensuring timely dispatch and delivery.
o Verify import documents for accuracy and compliance with customs requirements.
o Prepare documentation for customs clearance and follow up with CHA.
o Ensure compliance with DGFT, customs rules, and other import regulations.
o Coordinate with shipper, shipping lines, and transporters.
o Monitor vessel schedules, transit times, and port activities.
o Handle delays, discrepancies, and logistic issues proactively.
o Maintain import records, shipment trackers, and cost sheets.
o Prepare MIS reports for management on import status, costs, and forecasts.
o Update ERP/Excel with order timelines and shipment details.
o Coordinate with the finance team for advance payments, LC arrangements, and remittances.
o Track outstanding payments and update suppliers accordingly
- Education: Bachelor’s degree
- Experience: 4–5 years in agriculture supply chain (international).
- Excellent communication skills (English, global dealings).
